It's not every day that you see an equestrian property like this one! Imagine waking up to the gentle sound of chirping birds, a seasonal creek, and stepping outside to inhale the crisp, fresh air. Whether you're a seasoned farmer or an aspiring homesteader, this home provides the ideal setting to cultivate your passions. If you are a horse enthusiast- this property will delight. The main floor is a coxy rustic blend of classic and modern finishes---natural stone, wood finishes, gas fireplace, and so much more! The owners customized this home with special detail when choosing the building materials just to name a couple of highlights: whole-home water filtration system, 2x6 walls (soundproof and energy saving), presidential roof, Milgard wood windows, and high-end radiant heating system.

LOCATION: SUMMIT WALLER AREA

With every square inch of Tacoma being subdivided and overpopulated, the Summit Waller area is very special because the 2.5 acre minimum prevents developers from subdividing into tiny parcels.  The Summit Waller Community Organization (est. 1993) keeps this area preserved by fighting for the 2.5 acre minimum, Orange Gate Park and other issues that affect the quality of life there.

The home is just steps from Pierce County's Orangegate Park, 150+ acres of beautiful trails through big timber, creeks and open space to ride a horse, bike, jog or take your dog for a walk. You can lexit your barn and ride horseback to the trail entrance ready to explore the scenery.

What will this owner miss most?

“The creek meandering through tall shade trees 15 feet from the deck that runs along the length of the house with high ceilings and large windows everywhere to view wildlife on the creek. I love watching baby geese and ducks paddle through the creek from the living room, rare Green Wing Teal ducks return each January. I'll miss the summer shade and watching storms from the wrap-around porch, and barbequing year round. We’ve installed the irrigation system for the lawn and hanging baskets along porch to keep things alive and green. Well-insulated (2x6 walls) soundproof home that stays warm in the winter and cool in summer as evidenced by the 3 sided gas fireplace, cozy and warm with ducting that blows warm air upstairs. Kitchen has adorable high end parlor wood stove that heats the entire home. It was important for me to have an efficient radiant wall heat to reduce allergens. “

With a five-stall barn with tack room; a mini-barn (chickens or goats); a massive garage space with workshop and rolling pastures, embrace your own YELLOWSTONE 10 minutes from downtown Tacoma or Puyallup and 10 to Freeway access!

Embracing the Next Chapter: Finding Joy in a Quieter Home For 19 years, our home was filled with the joyful chaos of raising twin daughters. From school activities to teenage drama, from meals squeezed in between their packed schedules to late-night chats, our lives revolved around them. And now? The house is quieter. Our daughters are off at Oregon State University, starting their next chapter, and my husband Mike and I find ourselves in a phase of life that feels both unfamiliar and exciting. I know many people call this "empty nesting," but that phrase has never quite resonated with me. It makes it sound like something is missing when in reality, this is an opportunity to rediscover ourselves and each other. Reconnecting and Rediscovering With fewer schedules to juggle and less noise in the house, Mike and I have found more time to focus on things we enjoy—together. We've started taking dance lessons , learning salsa, and swing, and stepping (sometimes literally) outside our comfort zones. We joined HOTWORX gym, prioritizing our health in ways we never quite had time for before. And, perhaps best of all, we've been going out to dinner more, savoring uninterrupted conversations and rediscovering the ease of just enjoying each other's company. It feels like we’re dating again, but we have 24 years (almost 25!) of shared experiences behind us. There’s something special about laughing over dinner, challenging each other in a workout, or stumbling through a new dance move together. It’s a reminder that this next phase isn’t about loss—it’s about growth. Breathing Easier Of course, we still miss our girls, and there were emotional moments when we first dropped them off at college. But seeing them adjust, make friends, and embrace their new independence has given us peace of mind. When they’re thriving, it makes it easier for us to embrace this new season in our lives. So, instead of calling this "empty nesting," I see it as an opportunity—a time to reflect, recharge, and rekindle. Life isn't slowing down; it’s just shifting, and we’re learning to dance right along with it. -Kressent Kressent Marston RM Home Specialists | Realtor® Windermere West Campus
