2026 Planning Retreat at Alderbrook Resort
RM Home Specialists • October 15, 2025

The team stepped away to dream bigger, plan intentionally, and soak in the beauty of Alderbrook.

There’s something about getting out of town that shifts everything. This year, we booked our 2026 business planning retreat at the stunning Alderbrook Resort & Spa—just about a 90-minute drive from Tacoma, WA. Nestled on the shores of Hood Canal, it’s the kind of place that instantly makes you breathe a little deeper, sip your coffee slower, and dream a little bigger.

A Cabin, a Campfire, and a Fresh Perspective

We stayed in one of the cozy cabins on the property—two bedrooms and a little kitchenette that felt like the perfect mix of rustic and elevated. Waking up to water views with a warm mug of coffee in hand set the tone for intentional conversations and inspired planning.

Evenings were spent around the campfire—nostalgic, simple, and so special. There’s something about that crackle of wood and glow of the flames that reminds you why you started doing what you do in the first place.

Food, Favorites, and Oyster Love

We also made sure to indulge a little. Dinner at the resort restaurant did not disappoint. A personal shout-out to their pan-fried oysters—they’re one of my all-time favorites, and whenever I see them on a menu, it’s a must. This time was no exception: crispy, buttery perfection.

Here’s what the team had to say:

Kressent: “The setting is beautiful and peaceful and gets you into the right mindset from the start! Regina, of course, is a boss lady and makes it feel comfortable for all. The Start/Stop exercise is always a friendly reminder to keep yourself on track. The ‘ideal client’ reflection got me thinking deeply about who that is for me and how I can manifest that in my business. Inspiring to be surrounded by people focused on both business and taking care of our clients!”
Stacey: “Shared vision and purpose, the collaboration and energy, and the forward momentum and focus. The dog-friendly atmosphere, peaceful waterfront + trails, and cozy, relaxing vibe all added to the magic.”

More to Explore Nearby

The resort itself is incredible, but the surrounding area is just as special. Nearby, you can explore scenic trails, take a hike in the Olympics, or visit Union for a drink with a view. It’s the perfect mix of quiet and inspiration.

A little personal note—my mom and I had a 5-star experience at the Alderbrook Spa over a year ago, and it stuck with us. We made a mental note then to come back, and I’m so glad we did.

This trip was more than just planning. It was connection. Reflection. And a reminder that the best ideas often come when you step away from the noise and make space to dream.

STORIES FROM HOME

"From the moment we began working with Madison and Regina, we knew we were in exceptional hands. Their gracious professionalism, deep knowledge, and genuine warmth shaped every step of our journey.

Although we’ve purchased homes before, their continual updates, thoughtful explanations, and steady, patient support made us feel genuinely cared for.
When we unexpectedly lost a property due to an unethical selling agent, they stood by us with calm, unwavering professionalism.

We wholeheartedly recommend trusting this exceptional team with life’s most important real estate milestones. Their stylish eye, family‑centered spirit, and heartfelt dedication set them apart in every way. When the day comes for a new chapter and the search for our final, forever dream home, we will undoubtedly call on Madison and Regina again." E. SANDSTROM | TACOMA, WA

Your beautifully curated list of what’s worth eating, seeing + doing around Washington. Jen is one of those people who creates the vibe. She married into a family my husband and I have known for a long time, and over the years I’ve seen just how thoughtful and intentional she is. She lives in the cutest Craftsman in Central Tacoma, hosts the warmest gingerbread competition Christmas party, and her wedding week in the San Juan Islands was one of the most beautiful celebrations. She has an eye for the details that make something feel special. So it makes perfect sense that she’s completely immersed herself in the local scene with @eatinwashington . I love knowing what’s new, fun, and delicious around here. But with two kids, it’s nearly impossible to actually keep up with all of it. Jen does the heavy lifting for us. Through her lens, Eat in Washington has become a beautifully curated highlight reel of Washington’s must-eat, must-see and must-do. The new restaurant worth making a reservation for. The coffee shop you haven’t tried. A special dinner happening for one weekend. A day trip, market or stay that deserves a spot on your list. And because Jen herself is so intentional, her recommendations feel intentional too. She notices more than whether the food is good. It’s the space, service, story, lighting, people, and all the little details that create an experience. We asked Jen to give us the list.

Multigenerational Living Meets a Dream Backyard in Lakewood. There are homes with extra square footage—and then there are homes where that square footage actually gives you options. At 11409 Cloverdale Court SW in Lakewood , more than 4,100 square feet creates the kind of flexibility that is getting harder to find: room to live together without necessarily living on top of each other. And that matters because the way people use their homes is changing.

For the person who loves a moment, a beautiful table, and bringing people together— but maybe doesn’t want an entire closet dedicated to candlesticks and vintage glassware.
