When I was 10 years old and came from Florida to visit my Dad, there were three glorious summers where he rented a home on Steel Lake. I had never lived on a lake, and each summer was full of music, gardens, swimming and adventure. I have such wonderful memories of paddling the canoe out in the waters, climbing up the neighbor’s high dive on the dock to jump into the water on hot days, and avoiding the lily pads when swimming from the shore. We had the best tanning sessions, fire pit stories, and northwest outdoor play.
